M.V. ILLOVO RIVER, a new building bulker of 37,000tdw was completed at Shimanami Shipyard and delivered to the Hong Kong based Pacific Basin Shipping (HK) Limited on December 8, 2016. [Feb/14/2017]

37,600tdw Bulker Named "Union Mark" and Delivered to the Owner
A new building 37,600dwt bulk carrier ordered by Greece-based Bulk Vision Shipping Limited was named "Union Mark" and launched on 22nd April at Shimanami Shipyard, a Imabari Shipbuilding group company. On July 8, a 8,500tdw general cargo vessel was delivered from Taiwan's Jong Shyn Shipyard and named "TRI FRIEND". SOMEC has ordered 7 sisters as prime contractor to the Kaohsiung-based shipbuilder and TRI FRIEND is the 6th vessel. [August/17/2011]

Another Future-56 born, but she is co-owned by Sojitz Group

On May 24, "Hanjin Matsue" a Future-56 bulker was delivered from IHI-MU. Unlike her sisters, the vessel is jointly owned by a client of Union Commercial Inc. of Greece and Sojitz Group. [June/22/2011]

2nd Future-56 bulker delivered

On April 15, the younger sibling of the 2 x Future-56 handymaxes, named "Union Erwin", was delivered to a client of Union Commercial Inc. of Greece. SOMEC served as the prime contractor between the owner and the builder, IHI-MU. [May/18/2011]

A Panamax Completed By SSK

A 75,000tdw type panamax bulk carrier was completed at SSK's Sasebo main works. The vessel, named "Sumihou", set out on her maiden voyage to Australia. [April/06/2011]

On February 8, a joint ceremony for 2 units of Future-56 handymax bulkers took place. The elder sister was named m.v. "Union Dede" and delivered to a client of Union Commercial Incorporated of Greece. The younger was named "Union Erwin" and expected to be completed in April.
